Bear Hunting with Hounds is a fast paced, exciting, and sometimes physically
demanding hunt. We hunt with well trained hounds, utilizing the vast
wilderness and road networks of the Downeast Maine area. We will start the
chases off one of our many active baits, out of apple orchards, or walk the
dogs onto oak and beech ridges. Whatever it takes to insure a quality hunt
for you! Bear Hunting with Hounds often leads to the largest bears of the
season. Ones that are too educated to be harvested over bait can be
harvested by the aid of a good pack of hounds; like the 605 pounder
harvested by Mike Maglio in the Fall of 2007. We take a maximum of 2 hunters
per guide when hound hunting, another way to insure a quality hunt for you!
